patisserie

I’ve got an interview with OCAD in a month, and I’m not getting anything done, and it’s driving me crazy. I have an entire extra room, that is currently filled with junk, but should be filled with my art supplies and my more specifically my big, shiny drafting table/desk - but my parents won’t bring it down to me from Richmond Hill.
Thus I’m writing this sitting on my couch, rather uncomfortably, letting my laptop overheat because it’s being warmed by my… lap.
Thankfully, Clafouti’s pastries really are as good as all the yuppie, King street condo, Bay street wives (who go there to drool over the indie boys who work there, reportedly) say they are.
The chocolate almond croissant? Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside and fluffy and flakey in between.

I’m at Humber at the Mo and I am literally covered in ink and crying at this assignment. Cool grey # 2 and #5 markers and 1,000 tiny little windows of an apartment building. Please, shoot me now.

I’ve been drawing on a coreplast sheet in my lap for the past year, I can’t wait to get my drawing table in a week… My back, my poor little back.

I’m really, really, really am anti OCAD… but good luck nonetheless.
I could go into the reasons, but only if you ask/care.

Oh yes. Coffee tables are not workspaces. I feel your pain. All of it.
As for OCAD… I have my own reasons. I’m aware that it can be a crappy place for some people.
But my top five would have to be:
    1. Like it or not, It’s a really respected school. I’ve just spent 3 years at a not respected school. I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that prestige is worth it.
    2. It’s soooo close to my apartment (at this point). Only one streetcar! And it comes every six minutes!
    3. Man, that new building’s cool looking.
    4. My grandmother went there. I like that. Family heritage, legacy, history. All that stuff.
    5. I have been promised that they’ve made great strides in making the illustration program really, really good. Strides that involve stealing some of Sheridans best talent.

the parents have not refused to bring it down, just haven’t been able to yet. It is coming. Had to return Heather to Barrie, and get something to put computer on here. Should be able to deliver it tomorrow or Tuesday perhaps

    Dear Beth,

    We love you.
I’m sorry I did not go to see you in TO when I was there. The reason is because I barely made it to the band — we walked in the venue and they were already playing.

As for your pastries - they sound amazing.

And you my dear are halarious.

And you my dear will do great at your interview.

So, I’ve gone from one not very respected school to another. What does this say about me? Shit this is worrying.
    And Clafouti tastes goood.
