You must be balls-out excited for Marie-Antoinette, eh?
I’m pretty excited, yes.
But my seeming obsession with Sofia Coppola, is more just a function of doing a portrait of her.
If you are doing a portrait of somone you’ve only seen in pictures, you have to work at giving yourself a really good working knowledge of what they look like. Hence the sketching her multiple times from multiple angles (actually, you haven’t seen the half of it – there’s a ton more in my sketchbook – I’m pretty much a stalker at this point).
