seriously?
Heath Ledger?
Really?
Seriously?
I’ve loved that dude since Roar. He’s like my teenage crush number 2 (number 1 was Christian Bale - so just imagine how excited I was to see him star alongside Batman as Joker - and now it’s just going to be creepy).
And he was an amazing actor to boot - he turned even teenybopper flicks into something interesting and inherently watchable (10 Things I Hate About You for example - and A Knights’s Tale too).
Poor dude had a baby girl.
I mean, hollywood actors implode from time to time, but when’s the last time anyone of actual worth died and left behind a little helpless baby.
Pretty much never.
Can we get Hollywood off of drugs now, please? Damn things are destroying my favourite actors, and acting’s something I actually used to enjoy and respect at one point in time.

I’m a little shocked. Especially not that long after Owen Wilson’s suicide attempt. I hope it doesn’t turn out that half of Hollywood is seriously depressed/has drug problems. But if it does, I hope they get help.

It’s sad, and it’s a shame but the biggest shame of all is that, had he overdosed on say, heroin, that an example would be made of him, the dangers of drugs would be put to the forefront, Drugs Are Bad, etc. There would be a Moral of the Story. Instead, despite being given a cocktail of different sleeping prescriptions, there is no public outcry as to why doctors are giving people so many pills and so many drugs and in so many different chemical cocktail combinations with little to no attention to side effects, potential harmful combinations that are completely under-studied or long term detriments. Why doctors who load people up on drugs, which we tell kids to Say No To, do not have to answer to it when things go wrong, is a huge problem. Of course, doctors save lives. I’m not saying they’re all pushers either. This is just a matter of personal opinion, but drugs are drugs and their irresponsible use is their irresponsible use. Also just a matter of opinion (albeit a semi-informed one, I work in the natural health industry where I have seen lives ruined by pharmaceuticals and people’s lives turned around and bettered by natural approaches, vitamins, herbs, diet, exercise and persistence) that freebasing cocaine is just as harmful as using chemicals to turn off brain signals, or shut them down, or stop pain or alter the body’s natural processes. Even mega-superstars are not immune to irresponsible use of drugs, whether they come in a pill bottle with your name on them or in a dimebag off the street. Again, this is just my humble opinion.

I didn’t believe it when I first heard about it. It blows my mind, and I wish I knew why he died. Is there any news about the autopsy yet?
