• Having a very Canadian night: snowed in, watching mens curling, drinking Niagara blonde and caesars. #

• So, I avoided all Olympic sports until now. Ladies curling. And a bottle of red wine. *sigh* #
• I kinda love you, Galen Weson, you smug, incredibly rich SOB. You have such a cute haircut! #

• I really wish there was a Twitter filter for the Olympics, so I didn't have to hear about it anymore. #

• I am at McDonalds corperate offices for a taste test/focus group! This is like a dream come true. #
• This waiting room smells like a school cafeteria: peanut butter and spoiled milk Not a good sign. #

• So we're trying these odd little mini sammies with chicken on teensy bagguettes w/ "ethnic" sauces. #
• So far: lemongrass tasted like detergent, tandoori was odd but ok, jerk was alright, but why mayo too? And salsa verde was the best yet. #
• Ugggggghhhhhh… So full of mcdonalds…. Ughhhhhhh… #
• This is why I don't, and continue to no eat here! #
• Although I also kinda want a creme brûlée mcFlury. They have those now, apparently. #

This year, I got what I wanted!

1. Liam scared of dead bugs at the ROM.

   

2. Delicious fresh oysters with homemade cocktail sauce at Celli Cottage (they also have a mini curling rink in their front yard!).

   

3. Ice skating at Greenwood park (I really, really suck at it by the way!).

   

4. Moist and dense red velvet cupcakes, thick with creamy icing, from the Sweet Bliss Bakery.

   

5. Liam got a great job!!!

• Had a really good night out @ the Red Room. Too much Creemore though. That stuff is insidious in pitchers. I just kept pouring. #
• Then I had Creemore fueled nightmares about being at sleepaway camp with a very mean girl Megan Fox. She wore a lot of unpractical shoes. #

• I had pho the other day, for the first time. From one of the supposed "best" places in the city. You know what? I prefer ramen. #
• Fresh home made ramen, of course, but nevertheless, ramen. As asian noodle soups go, it's the tops. Better noodles, better broth. #
• Guys, the first time I heard of pho, was 7 years ago in an indie movie, as a mark of hipster pretension. So I don't think I'm off base. #
• The movie BTW was Love that Boy, and it is super adorable. If you can find it, you should watch it. One of my faves. #
• Also, I love vietnamese food (especially all manner of bun) and I would totally go back. They had great spring rolls. Just not for Pho. #
• God, it's just soup. And my personal preference is for ramen. The end. #
• There's nothing wrong with liking hipster food. I love cupcakes, sushi, ironic beer, deconstructed comfort food, artisinal burgers. #
• It pretty much just means it's it's cheap, urban and trendy. That's all. #
• The only bad association I have with hipsters+food was the gaunt parkdaleians who bought nothing but bottled water & organic field greens. #

• Cheese and cupcakes for Valentines day!!! My husband knows me too well. #

• Best birhday ever: Liam got a job! #

• Just got an offer for some freelance work. Client really likes my style, but wants me to work in someone elses. Greaaaaaat. #
• Asked me to draw a character dressed like Anne Hathaway in Alice in Wonderland. Then sent me a picture of Mia Wasikowsa instead of Anne. #
• Also, client seems to be located in Dubai or Goa. Not sure which. Would like to visit, but not sure I want to deal with international law. #

Tommorow is my birthday.

For it, I want the following:

1. To visit the museum.
2. To eat oysters.
3. To go ice skating.
4. To have red velvet cake.

• What? There was football on yesterday? All I know is that I saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus and it was good. #
• I got my new headphones this week. Then I got a radio app that plays in the background on my iPhone, and have been listening to the ceeb. #
• Listening to the CBC is super nostalgic for me. I still remember waking up at my grandparents house to the Morningside theme. #
• Also: Q introduced me to the musical stylings of @MeaghanSmith this morning, and that is a very good thing. in reply to MeaghanSmith #

• If chocolate and peanut butter cereal stops me from eating chocolate and peanut butter ice cream, that makes it a legiimate health food. #
