  • Mozza stick day on set is sooooooo dangerous. I think Micheal Jackson sang a song about it. #
  • In the carpool on the way here, someone was listening to S Club 7. Way to have the musical taste of a 13 yr old girl in 1999, grown man. #
  • Ughhhhhhhhh no more Mozza sticks…. Ooooooh… Too early… Tummy ouch…
  • Did anybody watch the new Nikita? It’s pretty darn good. Though mostly because it’s just the old show with a new cast.
  • Mostly though, it just makes me want to watch the old one. You can’t beat Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis’s steamy chemistry.
  • Though Julie Cooper-Nichol as Madeline/Amanda is pretty inspired casting, I have to say. #nikita
  • Healthy food on set today! Quinoa! Grilled chicken! Steamed veg! Field greens! Heaven! My stomach is having trouble adjusting.
  • Course, heading to Vegas tomorrow, so theres more crap food in my future. Then Vancouver, & my organic friends. My tummys gonna be confused.
  • I was a little depressed by this Denver stopover until I discovered Hostess fruit pies. 20 grams of fat, and all of it from corn syrup! Yum
  • Also in the gift shop: Sequined flips flops, amethyst key chains. Denver is weird, yo.
  • Also, the airport seems to have blocked facebook…
  • Vegas!
  • So any suggestions on where to head? Keeping in mind, Liam is working, and I am all by myself?
  • I do not own enough clothing with sequins on it. #vegas
  • I went to Koi all by myself for dinner tonight. The standout was the Asian pear cocktail (for 14 dollars it had better have been!).
  • Sushi is ideal for dining alone, because you can sit at the bar, and not feel like a total loser.
  • … Until your waitress hands you a comp pass for the night club with a plus one “in case you have someone special you’d like to bring.”
  • I totally just had Mario Batali for lunch. He was delicious… Seriously though, I had a pizza.
  • So maybe last night we drank blue lagoons out of a fishbowl and danced to a Selena/Rhianna cover band in the basement of a casino. Maybe.
  • Rockin’ out at the Mandalay. Which I WALKED to from the Flamingo. Did you guys know Las Vegas is in the desert? #hot #tired
  • Todd English’s flatbread pizza (Olives @ the Bellagio) kicks Mario Batali’s rotund ass. Sorry Gwyneth Paltrow’s best friend.
  • Sooooo… I think I sat next to Miranda Richardson and Sam Neill at lunch. Dead giveaway: Miranda’s humongous hat and sunglasses.
  • Back at the Flamingo. Sore. Hurty.

    We Have Band – Divisive

My good friend Shaan just shared this on his tumblr, and I knew I had to share it with you. It reminds me of the eighties, in a really good way… And the intro sequence to the Edison Twins. Did any of you watch that show when you were a kid? Or just me?

Anyway, the the video and the song are awesome.

Oh and by the way I am in Vegas!

So far its all very… Vegasy? Lots of lights and everything is on a grand scale. I’m not sure it’s really my kind of place, but I’m certainly going to attempt to make the best of it.

Any suggestions of things to see? I’m on my own for the next few days, as Liam runs a conference.

Right now, I think I’m going to head to Paris to see if I can find some Parisian-ish brekkie (how awesome is it that I can just trot off to Paris on a whim? Only in Vegas, right?).

    looking good

    (via Pedlars UK)

Well, where have I been? Who do I think I am, exactly, abandoning my blog for weeks at at time?

Well, I think I’m falling in love with working in the Art Department on film sets. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, ever since I realized that all that pretty stuff in the background of movies and TV doesn’t just appear magically, but has to be carefully chosen (or made from scratch!) and placed there by designers.

And recently, I’ve gotten the opportunity to help out on some sets, and it has been awesome! Creative, and hectic, and so much on-the-spot problem solving. I love it!

But… the (truly) long hours don’t leave a lot of time for blogging.

And if I’m not on set I’m up at the cottage, and soon I’ll be leaving to go on vacation with Liam soooooo… Sorry, friends, family and fans, things aren’t going to be getting much better anytime soon.

    In the meantime though…

I love everything Pedlars UK has to offer, and always have. I make it habit to check their online shop once in a while and drool over the merchandise, dreaming of it one day being mine, all mine Too bad shipping from England is so expensive.

But now I’m working, so maybe I’ll be able to afford some choice pieces for myself!

I always love all their housewares, but right now I am particularly digging their curated clothing selection.

The trend these days is actually an anti-trend – the focus is on eternally lasting, classic, traditional, domestically made pieces.

The stuff at Pedlars is spot on, from these shiny silver hunter boots I adore, or their Guernsey fisherman’s sweaters, their selection of Cambridge satchels (I’ve already talked about how much I love those) and their gorgeous, custom designed brown leather brogues with tweed (gasp!) lining. I want it all.
