We Have Band – Divisive
My good friend Shaan just shared this on his tumblr, and I knew I had to share it with you. It reminds me of the eighties, in a really good way… And the intro sequence to the Edison Twins. Did any of you watch that show when you were a kid? Or just me?
Anyway, the the video and the song are awesome.
Oh and by the way I am in Vegas!
So far its all very… Vegasy? Lots of lights and everything is on a grand scale. I’m not sure it’s really my kind of place, but I’m certainly going to attempt to make the best of it.
Any suggestions of things to see? I’m on my own for the next few days, as Liam runs a conference.
Right now, I think I’m going to head to Paris to see if I can find some Parisian-ish brekkie (how awesome is it that I can just trot off to Paris on a whim? Only in Vegas, right?).

I’d recommend seeing the volcano erupt at the mirage, begins at 7:00 p.m. and runs every hour on the hour until 11:00 p.m. (nightly)
The strip really is alive at night, so relaxing by a pool during the day is a good way to avoid getting too exhausted from walking before things really get interesting.
I’ve heard the mexican food at Chipotle on the strip (beside a giant McDonald’s arch) is good. It’s beside Harrah’s. If you’re up for something particularly nasty yet kindof? delicious, there is also deep-fried reese’s pieces (and oreo, and other things), in beside Harrah’s. As well as a quaint little Ghiradelli’s icecream/chocolate shop. I got coffee ice cream there… when it’s hot, cool = heaven.
I also highly recommend Stripburger, but it’s pretty far north – across from the Wynn. But we stayed at the Encore, so it was close. ANd it’s beside Fashion Show Mall (basically, a mall).
If you go up the Eiffel tower go while the Bellagio fountains are still running (they stop at 11 or midnight, I forget). Two birds with one stone.
I also heard that there’s a Bettie Page Boutique – vintage dresses and stuff http://www.bettiepageclothing.com/contact/ I never went but I wanted to go! Open Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight. The Shops at Miracle Mile, Store H-32, in the Planet Hollywood Resort, and another one in Fashion Show Mall.
I’ve also heard that the Star Trek experience is fun, the art gallery at the Bellagio ($15), and the MGM Grand Lion Habitat (free) for feeding times (11:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily) are fun.
HAVE FUN !!! :D
Yay! Thanks. I actually just found the Betty Paige store, and it’s pretty neat (if kinda pricy). I will definitely use your suggestions, you know me pretty well, and I was so busy working right before we left I didn’t get nearly enough research done.
But in a lot of ways, it’s just as fun to fly blind and discover things on my own.
