A few years back, Girl Hula (aka Andrea) threw this mindblowinglyamazing china town themed party for her little girl – which I then more or less stole for our engagement party.
Recently, she thew a rainbow themed party for her little girl. It was also mindblowinglyamazing, and was complete with Rainbow Cake!
I myself am a rainbow enthusiast, and even had rainbow wallpaper on the walls of my nursery growing up. This is another idea that deserves to be enthusiastically stolen! Too bad my birthday is so very far away in February…

I’ve never had a proper shaved ice before, but this New York Times article makes them sound amazing! I’m not a fan of the unitasker, but it makes me want a shaved ice machine.
All the crazy flavours sound like my kinda heaven heaven!
They’d be so good for summer barbeques – those beautiful, vivid syrups poured over sparkling ice are so pretty and impressive looking – but really, the whole process sounds quite easy – make a syrup, shave some ice. Easy and impressive, perfect for summer entertaining!

I made this toad-a-hole with Japanese taro bread I got from my local Asian supermarket, so if the bread looks purple, it’s because it was! Naturally purple bread!
Toad-in-a-hole is pretty much my favourite breakfast. It’s even more delicious with taro bread.

Reasons I am happy today:
1. I had vegans over for dinner last night.
2. I have a pile of vegan chocolate-zucchini-masala bread in the fridge (and some in my tummy from breakfast too).
3. I made butterless, chickenless vegan butter chicken last – and it rocked! There are leftovers for lunch!
4. I am working on an album cover for an indie rock band.
5. I have the prettiest vintage dress ever making it’s way to me from Kansas via etsy. As. We. Speak.
